SSO with Microsoft Entra (formerly Micorsoft Active Directory) - Setup guide
Background

Kippy allows easy integration with Microsoft Entra (formerly Active Directory) for SSO (single sign on).

Kippy uses SSO for authentication (logging in) and manages authorization (roles and privileges) internally via the Kippy Tools Settings.

Set up

1) Ask your kippy system owner to create a kippy account for your Microsoft Entra adminstrator with his/her corporate email address. e.g. if your Microsoft Entra adminstrator is Bob Smith at your org, then create a kippy Admin user in your kippy instance with the email address bob.smith@your-org.com

2) Ask the Microsoft Entra admistrator to go to www.kippy.cloud/login and click LOGIN IN TO KIPPY. On the login screen, click 'Sign in with Microsoft'. As the Microsoft Entra administrator, they will see a message that permission is request by Kippy KPI Management Ltd and an option to "Consent on behalf of your organisation". Select that option and complete the sign in. They should now be logged into kippy.

Testing

3) Ask your kippy system owner to create a kippy account for someone who is NOT a Microsoft Entra adminstrator with his/her corporate email address. e.g. if John Jones at your org in NOT a Microsft Entra administrator, then create a kippy Admin user in your kippy instance with the email address john.jones@your-org.com

4) Ask that user to go to www.kippy.cloud/login and click LOGIN IN TO KIPPY. On the login screen, click 'Sign in with Microsoft'. Follow the instructions to complete the sign in. They should now be logged into kippy.

Finally

5) Your kippy system owner can remove the Microsoft Entra adminstrator (e.g. Bob Smith) if he/she does not need to be a kippy user.

6) Your kippy system owner can manage the roles and permissions for the non-Microsoft Entra administrator (e.g. John Jones) using Tools | Settings | Users in kippy to give kippy-specific roles and privileges.
